Mark is a seasoned veteran of the networking and telecommunications industries, with over 26 years of experience in executive management, engineering, strategic planning and business development, CTO and VP of Engineering. Prior to joining Cedar Point, Mark was the Vice President responsible for the Packet Core and IMS Business Unit in the Mobile Solutions Division of Alcatel in Paris, France. Before joining Alcatel, Mark was a Vice President, CTO and Co-Founder of WaterCove Networks. WaterCove, a pioneer in the development of next generation, intelligent mobile data switching products, was acquired by Alcatel in 2004. Throughout Marks’ career he has held such executive positions as President, CEO & CTO of Innovative Telecom, Vice President of Engineering and CTO of Summa Four, and Entrepreneur in Residence with Charles River Ventures. Mark holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Boston University and an M.S. in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Pradeep Kathail, 20+ year industry veteran, is the CTO for Network Software and Solutions technology Group of Cisco and is responsible for technology strategy and software architecture. Before his current assignment, he held the position of Cisco Distinguished Engineer and during his tenure at Cisco, Pradeep has developed large scale router and switch software for high-end platforms. Prior to Cisco, Pradeep held various technology management jobs at Apple, Novell, SITA and IBM designing, developing and maintaining large or ultra large scale systems. He holds a MS Computer Science degree from IIT Roorkee, India and is a member of ACM and IEEE. Jayashree Subrahmonia Jayashree
Subrahmonia, Director, IBM Cloud Labs and Adavanced Customer Solutions, joined
IBM's Software Group in September, 2003. She manages a team whose mission is to
work with leading edge customers to develop cloud solutions. Her team
works with world wide customers to deliver Enterprise cloud solutions. Prior to
joining Software Group, she managed a number of initiatives in IBM's Research
Center - the Digital Rights Management (DRM) group at the Almaden Research
Center and the Pen technologies group at the Watson Research Center in New
York. She received a PhD in electrical engineering from Brown University and
BTech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Mumbai. Burcak Beser
Burcak Beser has more than 20 years of experience in the field of Networking and Communications. He is the VP of Core Systems division at Harris Stratex Networks leading the all the IP networking products. He was the CTO of Telsima Corporation which was acquired by Harris Stratex Networks. Pior to Telsima, he was the chief architect in Juniper Networks, he designed Cable Access systems for Pacific Broadband Communications, was the lead architect in Carrier Systems Division of 3Com Corporation and designed world-leading DSL systems and the market leading DynaMiTe DSL chip-set at Alcatel. Burcak has authored many fundamental specifications/standards that have been accepted by ITU, ETSI, ANSI, SCTE, IETF & IEEE. Alok Sharma Alok Sharma is IIT Roorkee Alumnus, currently Chief Strategy Officer for Harris Stratex Networks. In his current role, Dr. Sharma is responsible for leading corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, as well as the development of key strategic relationships for the company. Prior to joining Harris Stratex, Dr. Sharma was the Founder & CEO of Telsima Corporation, a leading provider of next generation broadband wireless solutions conforming to the WiMAX specifications. Telsima successfully designed, built and operated some of the largest 4G broadband wireless networks at multiple Tier 1 operators in Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe/Russia and Africa. Telsima was acquired by Harris Stratex in February, 2009. Prior to Telsima, Dr. Sharma was the Vice President and General Manager of the Worldwide Cable Business at Juniper Networks. In this capacity, Dr. Sharma successfully established Juniper’s leadership position in global cable markets generating multi-million dollar strategic wins at the leading cable operators in North America, Western Europe and Japan. Before Juniper Networks, Dr. Sharma was the Founder & CEO of Pacific Broadband Communications (PBC) which was acquired by Juniper Networks in December 2001. Prior to PBC, Dr. Sharma held senior management and technical positions at Hewlett Packard, Fujitsu/Amdahl, Integrated Device Technology and Siara Systems (metro routing company acquired by Redback/Ericsson). Dr. Sharma holds a Bachelor of engineering (EE) degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, India and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Kittu brings more than 18 years of experience at the leading edge of the technology industry. He co-founded Healtheon/WebMD, introducing online healthcare to the market. As Senior Vice President and General Manager of Provider Services, Kittu was responsible for product development, operations and business development. Before co-founding Healtheon/WebMD, Kittu worked at Silicon Graphics, Inc. (SGI) managing high profile Interactive TV projects. Kittu holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India, and a M.S. in Operations Research from the State University of New York, Buffalo. Mark Fernandes Mark Fernandes, Managing Director, Sierra Ventures, Mark Fernandes is a Managing Director and focuses on consumer internet and infrastructure software investments. His investments include Frontbridge Technologies (acquired by Microsoft) and Sourcefire (NASD: FIRE) and he has served as a board observer at Net6 (acquired by Citrix Systems) and Permeo (acquired by Blue Coat Systems). He currently serves on the boards of the following private companies: Ooyala, Opalis Software, Piczo, Predictify and Spotzer Media Group. Mark started his career in engineering and product management at Seagate Technology, spending extensive time in Asia at their disk drive manufacturing facilities. He was then a product manager in the networking and security groups at Cisco Systems. After business school, Mark spent almost five years in equity research covering software companies, first as an analyst at Robertson Stephens and then as a Director at Merrill Lynch. “I had a unique opportunity to observe and analyze the best software companies and the most talented management teams, as they grew from their IPOs to large multi-billion dollar companies”, notes Mark. He joined Sierra Ventures in 2002. Brian Wilcove Brian Wilcove, Partner, Sofinnova Ventures. Brian Wilcove joined Sofinnova Ventures in 2006 as a Partner on the Technology investment team. Brian focuses on communications, networking and energy technologies. His current investments include ConteXtream, Guavus and microAzure. Prior to joining Sofinnova, he spent five years with TeleSoft Partners, where he was responsible for a number of investments, including BayPackets (GENBAND), Calix, Internet Photonics (Ciena), LogLogic, OnFiber (Qwest), Tele Atlas (TomTom), and VoiceObjects (Voxeo). Earlier in his career, Brian was a co-founder of Virtela Communications, a managed services company, where he served as VP of Marketing and Business Development. Previously, Brian was responsible for Qwest's IP product portfolio, where he launched and managed the P&L of several business units, including DSL, Virtual Private Networking, and Internet Access. Brian began his career at America Online. He graduated from Miami University. David Thacker David Thacker, Principal, Greylock Ventures. David
joined Greylock in 2008. His areas of focus include consumer internet and
enterprise software. Prior to Greylock, David was a Group Product Manager at
Google. During his five years at Google, he oversaw the development of key
components of the AdWords advertising system and led a product management team
focused on new products for advertising agencies and strategic partners. In
addition, David relocated to Europe for two
years where he built Google’s product development organization in the region
and drove the expansion of Google’s products into international markets.
Earlier in his career, David held product development, technical consulting and
sales roles at pcOrder, an enterprise software company that provided e-commerce
solutions to the computer industry. During this time, pcOrder held an initial
public offering (NASDAQ: PCOR), and was later acquired by Trilogy Software.
David has also worked at Credit Suisse First Boston, IBM, and Electronic Arts.
David holds a BA in Computer Science and Economics from Duke
University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
David Goldschlag Dr. David Goldschlag is Executive Vice President - Corporate Strategy & Technology at Trust Digital, with responsibility to define and maintain the company's long-term strategic product roadmap, monitor and assess new technologies, and manage and maximize the value of Trust Digital's Intellectual Property portfolio. David has over 20 years of experience creating and selling innovative technology in start-up, commercial, government, and academic environments. David has held senior management roles at Trusted Edge (information retention at the desktop), USinternetworking (the first application service provider) and Divx (the first limited license digital media), as well as positions at the National Security Agency and the US Naval Research Laboratory (anonymous communications through Onion Routing). David is a co-inventor on seven granted patents, and has published over 30 academic papers on topics including database technologies, cryptography, conditional access, and computer security. Dev Khare Dev Khare is Vice President at Venrock Ventures. Dev has a rich background in product management, marketing and international finance, Dev brought his entrepreneurial experience to Venrock in 2006. Prior to Venrock, he held leadership positions in Symbol Technologies’ Mobile Software Division. He joined Symbol in 2003 after its acquisition of Covigo, a mobile application software company he co-founded in 1999. Prior to Covigo, he held marketing and product management positions at CrossWorlds Software, a Venrock-backed enterprise software company, before its sale to IBM. Sanjog Gad Senior Vice President of Advanced Technology, SAP Labs in Palo Alto, California. In his current role he leads an Advanced Technology team within Office of CTO and is responsible for exploring new cutting edge technologies and leveraging them in SAP Products and Architecture. He is been working with all leading cloud vendors to drive SAP's cloud strategy. He is also a designated SAP Venture fellow identifying startup companies to invest, partner and possible acquisitions. Sanjog has more than twenty three years of very diverse management & technology experience, having held various senior executive position at leading technology companies including Baan, Microsoft, WebEx & Efficient Frontier. Sanjog was a founding team member of WebEx and led their Engineering and Professional Services efforts. He was instrumental in positioning WebEx as a collaboration platform company creating a unique WebEx-enabled Application program (WEA). Prior to that he was at Microsoft (Redmond) in SQL Server group, responsible for SQL Server 7.0 release. Sanjog spent more than 13 years at Baan and was founding team member of Baan core engineering team in Netherlands who built Baan's Application Technology Platform. He was responsible for Baan's overall technology vision and strategy. He co-founded Baan India in 90's much before offshoring became common practice.
